Celebrating One Million Safe Miles

We recently celebrated Mark Smith for driving one million miles safely. Mark has been driving for Westfield Steel since 2012. He reached this impressive milestone in October 2020, but we delayed the recognition and celebration due to COVID. To thank Mark for his amazing driving record, we gave him a decal for his truck, a pin for his jacket, a patch, a plaque from the American Trucking Association, and a $5,000 bonus. Mark was recognized at our annual driver appreciation dinner, held at a restaurant local to our Westfield, IN location.

He puts the customer first and delivers excellent customer service. He also is a mentor to his co-workers. We are glad he is a part of the Westfield Steel family.”

Before joining the team, Fritz worked with General Electric and GE Capital for 16 years. He started in finance through GE’s Financial Management Program after graduating from Syracuse University. At GE, he successfully moved from finance, to manufacturing, to sales, and then to acquisitions. He relishes in change and enjoys developing people.
