WESTFIELD, Ind. – Westfield Steel – a family-owned, steel service center located just north of Indianapolis – recently launched “The Melting Point” – an interactive blog aimed at delivering trade news, business advice and a unique perspective on the steel industry on a regular basis.
To visit The Melting Point visit the Westfield Steel website: www.westfieldsteel.com
“We wanted to create a way to share ideas and thoughts with potential and current customers, employees and friends,” said Westfield Steel CFO and Blog Author Fritz Prine. “The topics will be timely and thorough without belaboring any specific point.”
The first blog entitled “Staying Afloat” was posted in December. In it, Prine talks about the economy and the outlook for the future.
“The painful four-quarter-long chain of decline has officially ended,” writes Prine. “It is good news, but don’t break out the champagne and celebrate just yet.”
The blog goes on to provide certain options management might consider to weather the continuing recession, such as: marketing in a down economy, carrying outside sales reps and creating innovative new business ideas.
Prine said these are a few of the things Westfield Steel is doing to withstand the otherwise hard times the industry is facing and is happy to share the tips with others.
The next post is scheduled to go up in January, with an entry planned for each month consecutively.
